Tonight I sat in lodge, in my senior stewards’ chair & watched while a newer brother went through his 1st degree catechism. I saw him struggle and saw him excel in his proficiency of the craft. All in a few moments.

It makes me look back at the countless hours studying, reading, and googling words that I had never heard of before freemasonry.

And I realized again how much it developed some of my ideas. Cultivated In me, a idea of what I want to be as a man, father, & husband.

I tend to lose track of that sometimes in the hustle & bustle of day to day life. And so I need to re-commit myself to not only learn, or understand the words but to do as they mean. To be a good man to my family, friends & community.
