Freemasonry & Esoterica

So, on a whim I walked with my professor to her office to see if she had any books I could use for my independent study, or catalogs that I could order books from. We started talking and out of the blue she pulled these two books off of her shelf, out of a random little corner. As she handed them to me, I didn’t think anything of it, until I actually looked down and read what they were. Two books on two of the three degrees of Freemasonry. She is one of a handful of professors who know that I am a Mason, as I’m not shy about my membership. It was one of the better choices I’ve made, and I worked hard to earn my degrees.
The books were her grandfathers I believe she said. She nonchalantly told me that I could have them, as in her logic, I had more reason to have them. They copyright inside says 1922, and 1924, by the Masonic Service Association of the United States. It says that they were printed for The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Massachusetts. In the three printings in 1928, 1929, and 1931, there were 5,000, 5,000, and 1,000 copies printed of each, respectively.
I can’t believe this happened. I texted a picture of them to my old WM. from NY, and all he said was “Nice!”. I can’t explain how honored I was, and how much it means to me that she thought of me, and even gave them to me without my asking. Petitioning my mother lodge in late 2008 was one of the best decisions I feel I ever made. I spent the next few months waiting to hear from them, and then the next year working my way through the degrees. One of the proudest moments of my life was the day of my Raising, which other Brothers will understand.
Thank you to all of my Brothers world wide, whether you vouched for me early on, you  helped me in my early practice and learning, we sat together in Lodge, or even if we have yet to work in the same quarry. I am proud to bear the title Master Mason, and I hope that I make you and the rest of the fraternity proud. I honestly know that I would not be the man I am today without the incredible effects the Craft has had on me. Zoom
